Default Need some advice

I'm just getting back into GW, and I'm going to make a new character and get some titles with him. Want to achieve ''Kind of a big deal'' as fast as possible. I have played GW for 2 years and I'm back after 1,5 years. I do still understand the game mechanics and how it works, so I'm not a total noob. Still have about 400k in my chest.

I'd like to achieve Kind of a Big Deal as fast as possible (I want to have a full Hall of Monuments, so I need that title ). What do you guys think that would be the fastest way? What titles are the fastest/easiest?

I think it would be a fun idea to make a new character on which i'm going to achieve it. I have of all the professions one level 20 character, except for the Mesmer, Paragon, Ritualist and the Elementalist. Was thinking about making a new ele or ritualist and become Kind of a big deal with it. But i'm not sure of that yet, suggestions are welcome!

The fastest would probably be the 3 protectors and 2 of 3 guardian ones. Lightbringer, sunspear and skill hunters (4) are good too. Survivor (using the kilroy dungeon+scrolls) is fast too but more problematic. If you want only to add 5 statues to the honor monument, it's not necessaryn to get KoaBD: you can add also statues for finishing a campaign (3), elite areas (uw, urgoz, fow, deep, doa) and some non-max title (ex. you can add r4 allegiance). Also, a year ago, HoM was made aviable account widely too, so you might do things on different chars.

My main goal is to get all the benefits/extra's for GW2 as fast as possible.

I'd say one of the best ways to go is to get your character access to everywhere while working on the protector titles and survivor. Then, take advantage of any Z-Mission/Bounties that come along to cut down on grind. Also, take advantage of weekend events (Double XP for skill caps is awesome for Survivor, for example)

Since we don't know what the nature of the benefits/extras will be, the best bet is to just keep adding monuments whether or not they come with a title.

As Yasmine said, Fissure of Woe, The Deep, and Urgoz Warren, and Sorrow's Furnace give monuments, they should be worth getting.

As far as titles go,

Survivor can be maxed in about 20 hours by running the Kilroy Stonekin Punchout dungeon, has to be done first though.

Next up would be Deldrimor, you can max it in ~5 hours by repeatedly running the Secret Lair of the Snowmen dungeon.

Finally, 3 protector titles for the 3 campaigns, and there you go.

Without grinding, the fastest to get five statues would probably be: complete proph (just get run to drokns and move on, though you lose all the fun from the campaign this way imho), complete sorrow's furnace, complete factions, cantha protector+cantha guardian. However this will only (together with 5 elites armors, 11 destroyer/tormented weapons, 20 minis, 5 heroes) bring your hall to be full. For maxed honor monument you will need also 20 maxed titles (r4 KoaBD). But, as Gennadios said, it's not knows in what way thing will pass in gw2 so it might be that you get full benefits from just a full hom or might be that every mini, armor, title, etc... counts.

Nobody knows what the effect of the HoM will have on GW2. The HoM may in fact have no effect on GW2 whatsoever if the designers have problems with it being linked from GW1 to GW2.

5 easiest titles to max IMHO:

1.)Luxon
2.)Kurzick
3.)Protector of Cantha
4.)Sun Spear
5.)Lightbringer

I have a necro that already is Protector of Cantha and she has also completed Tyria and a part of Elona. Could become protector on all three with her. Then I already have 3 titles.
5 hours for a maxed title almost sounds too good to be true ^^. Is it hard to run the Secret Lair of the Snowmen dungeon?
Then I'd still need one title.

I almost have 20 minipets. I have already 3 15k armor sets. (actually 4, but have Primeval twice, so that doesn't count). How can I get the hero armors + Destroyer/Tormented weapons the cheapest/easiest way?

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to thank you guys for the information and efforts

Here is a link to the Guide to Maxing Titles page on the wiki.

Good luck and bring lots of gold for the sweet/drunk/party ones.

I already noticed that one yes. Just want to achieve KoaBD (1), so I'm not going for the sweet/drunk/party titles.

It really depends on how good your heroes are. With a MM, Spirit Spammer, and searing flames hero, along with the two ele and two monk henchies, the dungeon can be completed in 15-20 minutes for a metric ton of deldrimor points.

If you go to house zu helzer and complete the "Beak In the Darkness" quest you can tame a lvl20 Black Moa that will go directly to the HoM.

Buying armor remnants from other players is always an option. Most of them go for 4-6k, so it shouldn't be particularly expensive.

I am missing something here, sorry. 5 hours are 20 dungeon runs (counting a run lasting 15 mins). To get legendary delver from zero, you need 160k points. That would require the dungeon to give 8k points per run. However, in my experience for that dungeon (unless during a double reputation weekend), it wouldn't give much more then 2k per run. (Notice also, that it requires to have unlocked eotn HM).

Same with phoenix from completing imperial sanctum (the pets, however must be evolved and be lvl20 - since the introduction of the menagerie it's now very easy to do though) and MoX. Also, doing Remains of Sahlahja is a fast and easy way to get 4 ancient armor upgrades (though i doubt OP would have any problem buying some armor remnants).

Great information. How can I get the Destroyer/Tormented weapons the cheapest/fastest way?

Just try to buy em in Kamadan for example? Or craft them myself? How expensive would it be?

If you want the cheapest and fastest way you should get destroyers weapons.
To craft them yourself you will need to have completed eotn (unless, ofc, you have a friend you can trust who completed eotn and willing to go craft those for you). On the wiki page you can see the list of materials you require to craft. The fastest way would be to buy all the materials needed to craft from the material traders and go craft them. As the price of materials and the price pple sell destroyer weapons for varies, your best bet would be to check the material traders to find out how much a destroyer weapon would cost if buying materials from players (usually mid price between trader's buy and sell prices - cheaper but ofc slower) and if buying those from trader. That will give you a range of for how much you should buy weapons (might be faster or slower, more expensive or cheeper then buying mats from players I'm afraid, depends a lot on the market and the sellers you meet). You will probably require to craft some by yourself as it will be problematic to find all 11 types of weapons on the market in short time.
